Delta Air Lines has temporarily halted departures and arrivals at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus, according to a notice on the airport's website on Friday, Dec. 5. The airline shared the update on X shortly after 7 a.m. ET.
The disruption is caused by a technical connectivity problem affecting Delta's operations in the McNamara Terminal. Other airlines at Detroit Metro are not impacted by this issue.
By 8:30 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration reported "medium" delays across the airport.
A Delta representative stated, "Our teams are actively working to fix the problem while keeping safety as the top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience and advise customers to track their flights via the Fly Delta app or Delta.com."
The airport also reminded travelers to confirm their flight status directly with their airline before arriving at the terminal.
