Democrats release never-before-seen photos of Jeffrey Epstein's island

WASHINGTON On December 3, House Democrats unveiled additional photographs from their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and accused sex trafficker, while urging the Justice Department to comply with Congressional requests for files related to the case.

Among the images is a photograph showing what appears to be a dentists chair in a room adorned with masks on the walls. Another image captures a phone displaying speed-dial contacts with names like Darren, Rich, Mike, and Larry. Members of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee described these materials as never-before-seen photos and videos of Jeffrey Epstein's private island, offering a disturbing glimpse into Epsteins secretive world.

Former Treasury Secretary and ex-Harvard University president Larry Summers is noted in email exchanges seeking Epstein's input regarding a romantic pursuit involving a female economist he referred to as a mentee. In a November 20, 2018 email, the economist inquired about edits on a research paper. Summers forwarded her message to Epstein, writing, Think no response for awhile probably appropriate. Epstein replied, she's already beginning to sound needy :) nice. Correspondence between Summers and Epstein continued from November 2018 until July 5, 2019, according to The Harvard Crimson.

Epstein became a central figure in national attention following the Miami Heralds November 2018 expos. Federal court rulings in February 2019 allowed charges to be filed against him, leading to his indictment on July 6, 2019. He died by suicide approximately one month later while awaiting trial.

The released documents originate from civil cases involving JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Despite this, Democrats persist in demanding that the Justice Department make public the files from its criminal investigation, in line with legislation mandating disclosure by December 19.

Representative Robert Garcia of California, the senior Democrat on the committee, stated via social media, We will continue to release documents and files as we receive them. The survivors deserve justice and the truth. We need the Department of Justice to release all the files, NOW.

Aerial footage shows Little St. James, the small private island once owned by Epstein and later sold by his estate to resolve lawsuits, in the U.S. Virgin Islands as of November 29, 2025. Attorney General Pam Bondi has affirmed she will adhere to legal requirements regarding the documents.
