Fumio Kishida, former Prime Minister of Japan, drew attention with his choice of words when describing the relationship between pop sensation Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, suggesting the couple is romantically linked.
"Ex-Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau visited Japan accompanied by his partner Katy Perry, and we shared a meal together," Kishida wrote in the translated caption of an Instagram photo showing the pair with him and his wife, Yuko.
The picture, taken on December 4, features the four of them standing near a Christmas tree adorned with red and gold ornaments. Speculation about a romance between the "Firework" singer and Trudeau has been circulating for several months.
