Communities across Kent and East Sussex are continuing to grapple with ongoing water supply disruptions, now extending into their sixth consecutive day. The shortage has had a significant impact on local businesses, with at least one reporting a loss of 15,000 in revenue so far, while others have been forced to discard perishable goods.
In its most recent statement, South East Water confirmed that over 16,500 out of the 24,000 affected homes have had their water service restored. Residents are still required to follow a boil water advisory that came into effect on Wednesday, which is expected to remain in place for at least 10 days.
