Police step up patrols following attacks in city park

Avon and Somerset Police have announced an increase in patrols after a series of assaults occurred in a local park. Authorities reported that three men were attacked in separate incidents in Castle Park, Bristol.
The first victim, a man in his 40s, was hospitalized with injuries described as non-life-threatening after being assaulted at around 01:13 GMT on Sunday. Following this, two other mena man in his 40s and another in his 20sreported additional assaults in the same park.
Chief Inspector Keith Smith, from the neighbourhood policing team, confirmed that the police have stepped up "high-visibility" patrols, particularly in the areas where the attacks took place.
The two suspects involved in the attacks have been described as male, one black and one white, both wearing balaclavas. Detectives are also seeking information from a possible witness to the first attack, described by the victim as a man of Indian descent, in his 30s, with short hair.
Ch Insp Smith emphasized: "We understand that incidents like these can be very distressing for the community. That is why we have increased patrols in Castle Park, especially in the areas where these attacks occurred. These patrols involve mounted units, neighbourhood teams, and other specialist resources."
He added that the police are maintaining contact with community groups and local leaders while keeping victims updated as investigations continue.
