The East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) is inviting local residents to provide feedback on proposed enhancements for Brough town centre. The draft plans focus on the public area where Skillings Lane intersects with Welton Road.
The initiative, developed in partnership with Elloughton-cum-Brough Town Council, aims to introduce new seating, raised plantings, and upgraded grass verges surrounding the war memorial. Council leader Ann Handley described the project as an "excellent chance for residents of Brough to share their opinions."
Additional proposals under consideration include enhanced lighting and seasonal decorations, ensuring that the Roman statue remains a central element of the space. ERYC confirmed that community feedback will guide which concepts advance to the next phase of planning.
Residents can participate in an online survey open until 7 January or attend drop-in sessions at the town council offices on 4 December and 16 December.
