Law enforcement officials have seized hundreds of cannabis plants following the discovery of three unlawful cultivation sites within just 48 hours. The operation began when members of the public alerted Northumbria Police to suspicious activity at a property on Hastings Street in Hendon, Sunderland. Officers located 410 cannabis plants concealed inside the building.
The following day, the police returned to the area equipped with a drone and inspected a residence on Tower Street West, uncovering a second illegal farm. "Our investigation didn't stop there," a police representative stated, "as this led us to check the neighboring property, where a third cultivation site was identified."
Altogether, authorities confiscated around 600 cannabis plants, estimated to have a street value of approximately 97,000. While no arrests have been made yet, the investigation is still ongoing.
