Bongino has an emotional outburst at Murdoch journalist who exposed FBI agents calling him a 'Clown'

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has publicly criticized a New York Post columnist who first revealed an internal document detailing perceptions of the FBIs current and former leadership chosen by Donald Trump. The columnist, Miranda Devine, who also hosts the Posts podcast Pod Force One, disclosed the contents of the 115-page report.

The report included harsh assessments from active and retired agents, describing Bongino as something of a clown and FBI Director Kash Patel as inexperienced and in over his head. Sources further warned that the FBI operates as a rudderless ship and is in disarray under the leadership of the two former podcast hosts, who face scrutiny for their management roles.

Bongino, formerly the host of Unfiltered on Fox News until April 2023, reacted on X (formerly Twitter), dismissing the report and labeling Devine Deep-State Devine. He criticized her for allegedly attacking the FBIs reform efforts through anecdotes from disgruntled ex-employees, claiming she prefers the previous leadership while he supports change.

Devine, speaking to Fox News Laura Ingraham, rejected claims that the reports sources were part of a deep-state cabal. She emphasized that the contributors are patriots aiming to improve the FBI. Devine explained that the report assessed the six-month performance of Patel and Bongino, finding 80% of responses negative, and hoped the leaders would take the feedback seriously, as it came from Trump-aligned supporters.

The report, initiated by an alliance of FBI professionals formed in 2023 during the Biden administration, contains sharp criticism of both Bongino and Patel. Agents cited their arrogance and preoccupation with social media, suggesting they spent excessive time on public relations rather than operational duties.

Patel, specifically, faced criticism for making premature public statements during the Charlie Kirk murder investigation. He initially told followers that the shooting suspect was in custody, only to later clarify that the detained individual was uninvolved. The report also accused him of attempting to claim credit for other agencies work and of verbally abusing the agent in charge.

One particularly embarrassing episode described Patel refusing to leave a plane during the investigation until provided with an FBI jacket. Agents located a jacket belonging to a female agent, but Patel complained about missing patches. SWAT team members eventually removed patches from their own uniforms to satisfy his demands.

President Trump has publicly defended Patel, stating he is performing a great job and rejecting speculation about removing the director from his position.
