Kash Patel assures FBI will not ignore claims that the French and an Israeli are plotting to harm Candace Owens

FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the Bureau will not dismiss or overlook allegations made by political commentator Candace Owens, who claims foreign actors are involved in threats against her life. Speaking during a guest appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Patel addressed questions surrounding the claims and the broader investigation into the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Owens had previously published a message online claiming she had been contacted by a senior member of the French government. According to her, this person warned that French leadership had allegedly approved an operation against her. She further claimed that a specialized unit within France had been assigned the task and that one member of the alleged team was Israeli. Owens said she shared this information publicly as a precaution and insisted the source was credible due to their position inside the French government.

In the same message, she also claimed that Charlie Kirks murderer had connections to French military training and that journalist Xavier Poussard could also be in danger. Owens described the situation as extremely serious and urged the public to spread the information, stating she had further evidence that could be verified by U.S. authorities if they chose to contact her.

During her interview, Megyn Kelly directly questioned Patel about possible foreign involvement in Kirks assassination.

Kelly: Is there any evidence that a foreign government was involved in Charlie Kirks death?

Patel: At this moment, the FBI does not have reliable information linking any foreign government to the assassination. However, our work is not finished. Even after an arrest is made, we continue following up on every possible lead.

Patel explained that federal agents remain in close cooperation with Utah authorities, reviewing tips, investigating new individuals of interest, and seeking warrants where appropriate. He emphasized that the case remains active and ongoing.

Kelly: Do you have any reason to think someone connected to Turning Point was involved?

Patel: None at all.

Kelly also asked Patel about Owens claim that she had received a legitimate death threat from France and that the country might be tied to Kirks murder.

Patel: Any time an American believes their life is being threatened whether the source is domestic or international it is taken seriously. We will not disregard information like that. If there is any substance to it, the FBI will respond accordingly.

When asked if there was any confirmation yet, Patel clarified that officials are still reviewing incoming information and are not dismissing any reports at this stage.

In recent years, Owens has promoted several controversial theories, including claims regarding the identity of Frances First Lady and alleged involvement of Israeli supporters in Kirks murder. She has also accused individuals connected to Turning Point and The Charlie Kirk Show of playing a role in his death.

Those individuals have challenged her to appear at an in-person event to refute her claims publicly. Although Owens initially said she would attend at a time and place chosen by those she accused, she later declined when specific arrangements were made.
