Every year, cybersecurity company ThreatLocker honors its most collaborative staff by awarding luxury vehicles to two standout employees. CEO Danny Jenkins emphasized the importance of teamwork in the companys fast-moving environment.

In addition to the car awards, ThreatLocker selects 14 to 16 employees for an all-expenses-paid group trip. While companies are exploring new ways to recognize exceptional workers, few offer prizes as extravagant as $170,000 cars or luxury vacations.

Based in Orlando and employing around 700 people, ThreatLocker rewards its two most cooperative employeesone in the U.S. and one abroadat its annual holiday party. The company also operates offices in Dublin, Dubai, and Australia, and international winners are flown in to attend the event.

Each month, managers vote for the top performer on their teams, and employees submit nominations for the most helpful colleagues. Year-end tallies of these votes determine which two employees receive the luxury cars, which have included electric models and a $125,000 Porsche Panamera. This year, one of the cars is valued at $173,000.

The car reward program started in 2021, originally as a prize for the single top performer. Jenkins noted that the initial approach fostered unhealthy competition, prompting a shift toward recognizing teamwork. The company operates around the clock, with an average customer support response time of 23 seconds, making collaboration essential.

"Urgency is at the heart of everything we do," Jenkins said. "If people arent willing to collaborateeven at 2 a.m.it just doesnt work."

Jenkins himself works roughly 100 hours per week and keeps his phone on at all times. With rising demand for skilled AI and cybersecurity professionals, ThreatLocker continues to hire 40 to 50 employees monthly and has never implemented layoffs.

Before the car winners are revealed, runner-ups are recognized and offered a spot on a fully paid long-weekend getaway. Previous trips have included Royal Caribbean cruises to the Bahamas and visits to cities like Boston or New York, with participants receiving a $2,500 spending allowance. Groups typically consist of employees from multiple departments.

The company also rewards exceptional effort with additional perks, such as premium sports event seating in the Orlando Kia Center, where ThreatLocker maintains a private box. These recognition programs have strengthened employee retention, with no car recipient ever leaving the company.
