Vehicle access to Buildwas Bridge, spanning the A4169 over the River Severn near Buildwas in Shropshire, will be temporarily suspended for up to two days. The closure is set to take place from 09:30 to 16:00 GMT starting Monday.
Shropshire Council stated that the restriction is necessary to ensure that investigation work on the bridge can be carried out safely. Pedestrians and cyclists dismounted from their bikes will still be allowed to cross.
The council also assured that residents and property owners "up to the bridge" will retain access during the closure period.
"We understand this may cause some inconvenience to the local community and appreciate everyone's patience," a council representative said.
