Crash and car fire lead to closure of busy road

A significant roadway has been temporarily closed following a collision that resulted in a car catching fire. Emergency responders were dispatched to the incident on the A6003 in Corby around 09:00 GMT.

The Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that the vehicles occupant had safely exited before firefighters arrived and was receiving medical attention from paramedics.

The closure affects the stretch of the road between the Oakley Hay roundabout and Barford Bridge and is expected to remain in place for an extended period.
