Firefighters combat fire in a barn

Villagers close to Towcester have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed due to smoke from a farm fire. The incident occurred early this morning on Showsley Road in Shutlanger, prompting a call to the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service at around 06:00 GMT.

The fire involved a barn storing hay and vehicles. In response, five fire crews along with two water carriers were dispatched to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading.

Authorities are monitoring the situation and residents are urged to follow safety precautions until the smoke clears.
