We Tried Burger King's 4 Brand New Menu Items Before Anyone Else

This year, fast food brands are leaning heavily into nostalgia to draw customers back to the drive-thru. Alongside a slew of new menu items, many chains are teaming up with beloved franchises to create buzz-worthy collaborations. Notable examples include Wendys Girl Scouts Thin Mints Frosty, McDonalds "A Minecraft Movie" Meal, and Burger Kings "How To Train Your Dragon Meal."

Coming this December, McDonalds will debut The Grinch Meal on Dec. 2, but Burger King is also serving up a unique offering that fans of the animated ocean will not want to miss. To celebrate the release of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, Burger King is unveiling an exclusive SpongeBob Menu featuring four brand-new items.

New Menu Items

  • SpongeBobs Krabby Whopper: A familiar Whopper with a quarter-pound flame-grilled patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, mayo, and ketchup. The twist? A naturally yellow, square-shaped bun inspired by SpongeBob himself.
  • Mr. Krabs Cheesy Bacon Tots: Crispy, coin-shaped tots stuffed with cheese, bacon, and potatoes, replacing the traditional fry side.
  • Patricks Star-berry Shortcake Pie: A strawberry shortcake dessert featuring creamy strawberry and vanilla layers, a cookie crumb crust, shortcake cookie crumbles, and pink star-shaped sprinkles.
  • Pirates Frozen Pineapple Float: A tropical frozen drink topped with a pia coladastyle foam, perfect for a refreshing twist on seasonal beverages.

Last year, SpongeBob made a limited appearance in Wendys Krabby Patty Kollab, including a Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty. This time, Burger King is expanding the concept with themed packaging, special boxes, and collectible toys. The full meal is available in the Bikini Bottom Bundle, which comes in a pineapple-shaped box, includes a medium drink, and an eight-count order of Cheesy Bacon Tots. A kids version, the King Jr. Meal, also includes one of six collectible toys and a limited-edition SpongeBob crown. All items can also be ordered individually.

Personal Tasting Impressions

Themed packaging and four new menu items make this collaboration exciting. While the square bun on SpongeBobs Krabby Whopper is slightly drier than the traditional Whopper bun, the juicy flame-grilled patty and fresh toppings more than compensate. Mr. Krabs Cheesy Bacon Tots were a highlight, especially when paired with ranch dipping sauce. The Pirates Frozen Pineapple Float offers a refreshing departure from typical holiday beverages, reminiscent of a tropical pia colada. Surprisingly, Patricks Star-berry Shortcake Pie was the standout dessert, creamy and indulgent, evoking the taste of the Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake bar in pie form.

The SpongeBob Menu will be available at Burger King locations across the United States starting Dec. 2, offering fans a chance to dive into a flavorful, nostalgia-filled experience.
