Adam Scott Mistaken for Pro Golfer and Given Hotel Suite: 'Rolled out the Red Carpet' (Exclusive)

Actor Adam Scott revealed he was once confused with the Australian professional golfer Adam Scott, leading to an unexpected hotel experience in New York. The incident occurred around 2005, before Scott became widely recognized for his roles in Step Brothers and Parks and Recreation.

I checked into a hotel in New York, and they assumed the reservation was for the golfer Adam Scott, the 52-year-old Severance actor shared. I wasnt known at all at that time.

Instead of correcting the staff, Scott went along with the misunderstanding. They rolled out the red carpet, made a big fuss, and even gave me a suite, thinking I was the golfer. I just thought, This is amazing, he recalled.

Despite sharing a name, Scott has never met the professional golfer. I dont know why our paths havent crossed. It seems like something that should happen, he commented.

Earlier in his career, Scott considered changing his last name to Quardero, inspired by actors like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. I wanted a more Italian, serious-actor vibe, but I ultimately kept Scott, he explained. The hotel mix-up briefly made him reconsider, but he decided against it, noting their careers are in completely different fields.

The name confusion also extends to his family. Scotts wife, producer Naomi Scott, has received clothing intended for the actress and singer Naomi Scott. Occasionally, we get free clothes meant for the other Naomi, he shared.

Unlike Adam Scott and his golfer counterpart, his wife has met the other Naomi Scott. The encounter was documented at Elizabeth Banks 2019 birthday celebration, which Scott described as an epic, historic moment.

Reflecting on these cases of mistaken identity, Scott said, With a common last name like Scott, I guess these mix-ups are bound to happen.
