Bella Thorne Shares Her Thoughts on Starting a Family with Fiancé Mark Emms

Bella Thorne is opening up about her thoughts on starting a family with her fianc, Mark Emms. The actress, 28, spoke to Entertainment Tonight during The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Gala about the possibility of having children.

"I just directed a movie that I wrote," Thorne explained when asked about family plans. "So, I think that's my baby for now, and I'm in editing."

Thorne and Emms first met on a beach in Ibiza in August 2022 during Cara Delevingnes birthday party, spending the night together. Thorne described the encounter to Vogue in May 2023 as "love at first sight as the sun rose."

Their relationship became public in September 2022 after photos emerged of the couple kissing on a yacht in Mykonos, Greece. A source close to them said at the time, "It's new, and they're having fun."

Thorne officially confirmed the relationship on Instagram on Valentines Day 2023, sharing a playful photo of the couple sharing a candy necklace moment. She captioned it, "Find someone u want to share ur candy with . Ps. this sexy tall British man is mine."

The pair got engaged nine months later and have been planning their wedding since. In December 2023, Thorne shared that their bond had deepened since the engagement. "It's really like, Oh wow, you're my partner. Let's do this together," she said. "It solidifies our partnership more and more every day."

Despite being beyond the honeymoon phase, Thorne added that they continue to learn about each other and grow as a couple.

Two years after Emms proposed in May 2023, Thorne proposed back in August 2025 in a romantic setting surrounded by candles and flowers. She shared a video on Instagram showing herself on one knee in their home and wrote, "3 years ago we met, 1 year later he proposed, Now 1 year later so did I ."

Thorne also responded to fans reactions to her engagement, noting, "The comments on my post are hilarious!! Half of u are like let's not normalize proposing to your partner -- other half is like f--- yeah girl power this is the sweetest!!"
