Euphoria Season 3 Premiere Announced at HBO — Discover What the Teens Are Doing (And Who's Tied the Knot?!) Upon Their Return

The much-anticipated third season of Euphoria is scheduled to debut on HBO this April. During an HBO Max event in London, series creator Sam Levinson revealed that the new season begins after a notable time jump from the events of Season 2.

Levinson explained, "We find Rue in Mexico, struggling with debt to Laurie and exploring some unusual ways to pay it off." He also confirmed that Cassie and Nate are now engaged and living in the suburbs. The soon-to-be Mrs. Jacobs is depicted as highly absorbed in social media and envious of her peers' seemingly glamorous lives.

The creator added that the couple's wedding will take place during the season, describing it as "an unforgettable night." Earlier this year, Jacob Elordi, who portrays Nate, described filming the new season as "incredibly liberating," noting that his role allowed him to explore directions far beyond his previous work.

Meanwhile, Levinson shared that Maddy is now employed at a Hollywood talent agency, while Jules is attending art school with ambitions to become a professional painter.

Season 3 will have eight episodes, consistent with the previous seasons. Returning stars include Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Colman Domingo, Jacob Elordi, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, Nika King, Alanna Ubach, Zak Steiner, and Sophia Rose Wilson.

Background and Previous Events

Euphoria was renewed for its third season in February 2022, shortly before Season 2 concluded. Since then, the production faced several challenges, including cast changes and off-screen controversies. In March, HBO denied claims of unsafe filming conditions. In August, Barbie Ferreira announced her exit from the show. Dominic Fike later admitted to risking his role due to drug use during Season 2 filming. Tragically, in July 2023, Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fezco, passed away at 25.

Season 2 ended with significant developments: Rue entered recovery, Cassie and Nate split, Nate had his father arrested, Fez was shot during a police confrontation that resulted in Ash's death, and Lexi's elaborate play reached its climax.

Fans eagerly await the continuation of these storylines and the fresh twists Season 3 promises to bring.
