Can Netflix Show HBO Max’s Missing Shows?

Netflix has successfully secured Warner Bros. following a competitive bid, strengthening its position as a leading streaming platform. But does this acquisition mean that titles previously removed from HBO and HBO Max could find a new home on Netflix?

When Warner Bros. merged with Discovery to form Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO Max was rebranded as Max. Along with this change, a number of original HBO and HBO Max programs were abruptly taken down, with the company citing tax-related reasons. Shows such as Westworld, Made for Love, Generation, Love Life, Raised by Wolves, The Nevers, Gordita Chronicles, Mrs. Fletcher, and The Time Travelers Wife disappeared from the platform, leaving fans unsure where to watch them.

Earlier in 2025, Netflix acquired the streaming rights to Love Life, offering both seasons starring Anna Kendrick and William Jackson Harper. This allowed viewers to enjoy a former HBO Max original for the first time on Netflix.

The question now is whether Netflixs new control over Warner Bros. could lead to more of these missing shows being added to its library. Actress Cristin Milioti previously expressed frustration over Made for Love being inaccessible while promoting Black Mirror, noting, I have a lot of heartbreak over that series because its locked in a vault right now. It was part of the tax write-off Westworld was removed from Max at one point, and its all tangled up in that situation. Its frustrating because we worked on it for three years.

She added, That show had so much to say about technology, and its disheartening that theres no place for it to exist anymore. Netflix picking up these lost titles could finally satisfy fans like her.

Meanwhile, Netflix has already started streaming other HBO Max originals, including The Staircase and Love and Death, which remain available on Max as well.

Keep an eye out for updates on whether more HBO and HBO Max content will appear on Netflix, and share which missing show you hope to see return.
