Cha Seung-Won Hosts 'The Traitors' in Korea

Korean viewers will soon have the chance to uncover hidden deceivers in their midst. Renowned actor Cha Seung-won has been announced as the host of Korea's adaptation of the global sensation originally produced by Luyworks Media and Something Special.

Over 30 countries have commissioned their own local versions of The Traitors, a reality series where loyal contestants aim to identify traitors in dramatic and challenging environments. Participants compete in daily tasks and vote to eliminate others at night, while traitors secretly work to remove loyal players to reach the final stage.

The format has achieved worldwide acclaim, including in its countries of origin, The Netherlands, the UK, and the U.S., where it streams on Peacock. Korea, known as a hub for successful television formats such as The Masked Singer, is now joining the international franchise.

Cha Seung-won, celebrated for roles in The Greatest Love, Our Blues, and The Tyrant, will lead the show. Yul Han, CEO of Luyworks Media and executive producer of The Traitors Korea, commented: Collaborating with Cha Seung-won allows us to elevate K-content to a new level. He has long been the ideal host for the Korean edition of The Traitors.

The series is distributed globally by All3Media International and was originally created by IDTV and POSVIDEO in collaboration with RTL Creative Unit.
