The 2025 Critics Choice Awards nominations for film and television have been revealed, spotlighting standout projects such as "Sinners", "Adolescence", "One Battle After Another", and "Nobody Wants This".

Film Highlights

Ryan Cooglers "Sinners" leads the film category with 17 nominations, narrowly trailing the 18 nominations that Greta Gerwigs Barbie earned two years ago. Paul Thomas Andersons "One Battle After Another" follows closely with 14 nods.

"Sinners" received recognition for Best Picture, along with acting nominations for Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, and Miles Caton. Coogler earned nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. The film also garnered nods in technical categories including Best Casting and Ensemble, Best Cinematography, Production Design, Editing, Costume Design, Hair and Makeup, Visual Effects, Stunt Design, Best Song, Best Score, and Best Sound.

Television Standouts

On the small screen, "Adolescence" leads with six nominations, including Best Limited Series. "Nobody Wants This" follows with five nominations. The cast of "Adolescence" earned multiple acting nods: Stephen Graham for Best Actor, Owen Cooper and Ashley Walters for Best Supporting Actor, and Erin Doherty and Christine Tremarco for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television.

New Categories

The Critics Choice Association introduced new awards for 2025: Best Stunt Design, Best Casting/Ensemble, and Best Sound, recognizing the broader contributions behind film and television excellence.

Event Details

Comedian Chelsea Handler will host the ceremony for the fourth consecutive year. The live telecast will take place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Sunday, January 4, 2026, airing on both E! and USA Network from 7:0010:00 p.m. ET/PT.
