Meghan McCain Criticizes Tucker Carlson's 'Double Standard' Following Insult by His Podcast Guest

Meghan McCain spoke out sharply against Tucker Carlson following a recent episode of his podcast, where political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos insulted her appearance. The 41-year-old TV personality and author, who is expecting her third child, addressed the remarks after Yiannopoulos called her "fat" during the December 3 episode of The Tucker Carlson Show.

On the latest episode of Tucker Carlsons show, my weight became a topic of conversation with his guest, McCain wrote on X (formerly Twitter) the day after the broadcast. Particularly, how fat I am.

During the podcast, Yiannopoulos, who has publicly renounced his previous homosexuality and promoted conversion therapy, made derogatory comments about McCain. He questioned if there was anything gayer than John McCains bloodlust? and added, Hes even got the fat friend. Its his daughter.

Yiannopoulos went further, calling McCain a slang term implying a woman who surrounds herself with gay men, often stereotyped as unattractive or overweight. You know she hates herself, he said. Shes fat. Shes crazy. Shes every gay mans dream.

In response, McCain addressed the insults with poise, noting that her current size is due to being nearly nine months pregnant. I am very fat because Im almost 9 months pregnant with my third child, she wrote, emphasizing that she is happy and confident. She also criticized Carlsons behavior, saying, I dont care how many times Tucker talks about being a Christian, that is not Christian behavior to engage in such a conversation on one of the largest podcasts in the world.

McCain further called out the broader issue of hypocrisy and meanness toward women, highlighting its impact on her generation of female voters. People have been calling me fat since I started in media at age 22. It is old, lazy, tired. I dont make my living off of ugliness like that and truly cant fathom what life is like for anyone who does. It must be very dark, she added.

Earlier, on November 22, McCain shared a photo on Instagram showing her growing baby bump, celebrating her pregnancy with husband Ben Domenech and their daughters, Liberty, 5, and Clover, 2. 8 months bumping along! she captioned the post, receiving numerous messages of support as she prepares for the birth of her son.
