Nicole Kidman understands the allure of the big screen, which is why Stranger Things will conclude its five-season journey with a cinematic experience. Fans who prefer to watch at home can stream the series finale, "The Rightside Up", on Netflix starting Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

For those seeking a more immersive experience, the two-hour, five-minute finale will be shown in over 500 theaters across the U.S. and Canada on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Screenings will start at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT to align with the Netflix global premiere.

From Los Angeles to New York City, including Indianapolis near the fictional Hawkins, Ind., fans will have the chance to see the finale on the big screen. The complete list of participating theaters and locations is available for those planning to attend.

"We're thrilled fans can witness the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters," showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer said. "This has been a dream of ours for years, and we're grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen. Experiencing it on a big screen with amazing sound, visuals, and a room full of fans feels like the perfect way to celebrate the end of this adventure."

Before the finale, viewers can enjoy Volume 2 of Season 5, which includes the episodes "Shock Jock," "Escape From Camazotz," and "The Bridge". They will be available on Netflix from Dec. 25 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. These episodes continue the story from Volume 1, released on Nov. 26, which consisted of "The Crawl," "The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler," "The Turnbow Trap," and "Sorcerer."

The previous episodes ended in the fall of 1987, with Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) confronting the sinister Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and demonstrating incredible strength to save his friends from the Demogorgons. Meanwhile, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Jim Hopper (David Harbour) discovered Dr. Kay's (Linda Hamilton) research on Kali (Linnea Berthelsen), Elevens spiritual sister and the only other surviving Hawkins Lab test subject.

Noah Schnapp shared with Gold Derby that he has enjoyed watching Will evolve from a "traumatized" sidekick to a key figure in the story. Reflecting on his character's bravery in Season 2, Schnapp said, "He runs out on that field and screams in the Mind Flayer's face: 'I'm not afraid of you!' " He also hinted at emotional moments ahead in the season.

The Season 5 cast includes Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), and Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler). The eight episodes are directed by the Duffer Brothers, Frank Darabont, and Shawn Levy.
