Oasis in talks for next James Bond theme song: 'Stand by Bond'?

Noel Gallagher once voiced his frustration over James Bond soundtracks being performed by Americans, criticizing the Quantum of Solace theme, "Another Way To Die," by Alicia Keys and Jack White. Back in 2008, he mentioned to NME that he had composed a few potential Bond themes but noted that their titles werent quite "Bond-esque" and would need adjustments.

Nearly two decades later, the opportunity may finally come for Oasis to contribute. According to The Sun, the band is Amazon MGMs leading choice to perform the theme for the upcoming James Bond film. A source told the outlet, The 007 films are a quintessential British institution. Who better than one of the greatest British bands to record the theme? Liams charisma combined with Noels anthemic songwriting could be ideal for the new movie.

While some fans remain cautious, wary that Liams signature vocal quirks might not suit a Bond theme, the Gallaghers recent 2025 reunion and successful tour make them a strong contender for the role.

No official confirmation has been made, but if true, this would mark another significant milestone for the Britpop legends who reconciled after 16 years of rivalry. The upcoming Bond installment is currently in development, directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Knight shared with BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast, It has always been on my bucket list and its fantastic to be invited. Im eager to begin. I hope my years as a Bond fan will help me create something familiar yet bold and unique.

The release date for Bond 26 has not been set, though production is expected to start in 2027, suggesting a 2028 premiere. The new actor to take over from Daniel Craig has yet to be revealed. Amazon reportedly seeks a fresh face, with names like Callum Turner, Scott Rose-Marsh, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson speculated as possibilities. This will be the first Bond movie fully produced under Amazons ownership of the franchise.
