Actor from Stranger Things frequently mistaken for Harry Potter

Noah Schnapp, known for portraying Will Byers in Stranger Things, says that although fans usually recognize him from the hit series, many have recently begun confusing him with a character from an entirely different world. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on December 3, he shared that this mix-up has been happening more often since the release of Season 5.

According to the actor, encounters with fans can take surprising turns, even when he is not accompanied by his castmates. He explained that while group outings often become overwhelming, going out alone presents another unexpected twist. Schnapp mentioned that over the past few years several people have approached him believing he is the famous young wizard from the Harry Potter films.

When Fallon asked for clarification, Schnapp confirmed that fans sometimes mistake him for Daniel Radcliffes character. He said that people often compliment him and thank him for his work before expressing admiration for Harry Potter, leading him to gently point out that they are mixing up two different franchises.

During the conversation, he noted that viewers occasionally draw comparisons between the two stories. He remarked that both worlds center on a tight group of young friends, ominous threats, and a reluctant hero who is pulled into a battle larger than himself.

The first volume of Stranger Things Season 5 is currently available on Netflix, with the second volume and the series finale scheduled to arrive on December 25 and December 31.
