'HBO series star Dominic McLaughlin receives letter from Daniel Radcliffe'

Dominic McLaughlin, the young actor cast as Harry Potter in HBO's upcoming adaptation of J.K. Rowling's beloved books, recently revealed a special letter he received from Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who originally brought the character to life on screen.

In an interview with BBC's Saturday Mash-Up! Live, McLaughlin described the excitement of receiving the letter. "I got a letter from the man himself, from Daniel Radcliffe," he said. "It was incredible. I was on the train back to Glasgow when my dad handed me this letter."

The 11-year-old shared that he didnt fully grasp the content until reaching the signature at the bottom. "I read it and then saw it was signed 'Dan R.'," McLaughlin recalled. "I was going wild, but I had to stay composed. I was on the train."

McLaughlin also gave fans a glimpse into the progress of the series, describing it as "going amazing." He added, "Its going really well. Ive made good friends with everyone, its great to be there."

HBO released first-look images of McLaughlin as Harry Potter and Nick Frost as Hagrid in July, coinciding with the start of filming at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, England, the same location used for all eight Harry Potter films.

McLaughlin stars alongside Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton, portraying Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, respectively. The Harry Potter series is scheduled to premiere on HBO and HBO Max in 2027.
