Director of 50 Cent's Diddy Documentary Proposes Collaboration with Misa Hylton to Share Her Own Story

Director Alex Stapleton, known for the hit Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, is now focusing on renowned stylist and cultural influencer Misa Hylton. Stapleton has reportedly reached out to Hylton to explore potential collaborations, including a documentary highlighting Hyltons pivotal role in shaping Bad Boy Records and her impact on hip-hop culture.

On Thursday, December 5, Hylton shared Instagram screenshots showing Stapletons direct message, where the filmmaker introduced herself and proposed a creative partnership for future Netflix projects. The message read in part: Would you happen to have a few minutes to connect tomorrow? I would like to introduce myself and tell you more.

Stapleton clarified that her intention is to focus on Hyltons own achievements rather than her relationship with Sean Combs. Theres two separate projects but both do involve your own show. My goal is to really lean into all that you contributed to hip hop and Bad Boy. In a quick call, I could explain better, she explained.

Hylton indicated she had already consulted with producer Erick Sermon, who appeared in The Reckoning, about collaborating with Stapleton. She set clear boundaries, stating she would not participate in interviews about Sean Combs, adding that her willingness to meet was out of respect for her connection with Sermon.

Hyltons Instagram post included pointed biblical references, reflecting her determination to reclaim her narrative: God didnt hand David a crown. He handed him Goliath, and Until they confess all the lies against you to gain favor, theyll never know PEACE.

The four-part Netflix series directed by Stapleton, and executive-produced by 50 Cent, chronicles Combss rise through Bad Boy Records, his influence on music and media, and the controversies surrounding his career.
