Georgia commit Jared Curtis denies talking to Bulldogs or Vanderbilt after reported switch to Commodores

Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, a standout from Nashville, has addressed recent reports suggesting he might switch his college commitment from Georgia to Vanderbilt. Curtis, the nation's top quarterback prospect, confirmed he has not been in discussions with either program regarding a potential flip.

The early signing period for high school recruits starts on Wednesday, but Curtis emphasized on social media that no official conversations have taken place yet. He tweeted:

Ranked No. 3 nationally by Rivals and as the No. 2 quarterback in the country, Curtis is also Tennessees top prospect. He has been committed to Georgia since May.

Rivals scouting director Charles Power praised Curtis for his arm talent and playmaking ability, saying he is elite arm talent with creative playmaking ability. Ball explodes off his hand. Generates considerable velocity on throws to all areas of the field. Has a loose, natural throwing motion. Capable of delivering impressive passes from several arm angles. Plays with a gunslinging mentality and is not afraid to drive the football into tight windows over the middle of the field. A fluid athlete who is tough to corral in the backfield. Dangerous playmaker and improviser.

Should Curtis decide to commit to Vanderbilt, he would become the highest-ranked high school recruit in the programs history. Curtis attends Nashville Christian High School, and the Commodores have an open quarterback spot with Diego Pavias eligibility ending after the 2025 season.

Vanderbilt recently finished the regular season with a 10-2 record and extended coach Clark Leas contract through a six-year deal over Thanksgiving. Lea had been linked to positions at LSU and Florida, but chose to remain at Vanderbilt after leading the team to its first double-digit win season in history.

A Curtis commitment would elevate Vanderbilt to the No. 30 recruiting class nationally, with Curtis as the only four or five-star player among 19 three-star signees. Georgia, by contrast, boasts a top-five class that includes five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro and 19 four-star recruits, as the Bulldogs prepare to face Alabama for the SEC title.
