Goldie Hawn to receive recognition from Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles

Actress Goldie Hawn will be celebrated with the Power of a Wish Award at the Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles Wish Gala taking place on December 5 at the Fairmont Century Plaza. Her son, Oliver Hudson, will present the award during the event.

Hawn shared her thoughts ahead of the ceremony: My life has always been guided by the pursuit of joy. Children naturally reflect that joy, yet Ive witnessed how challenges and uncertainty can dim their light. When a child feels overwhelmed, even dreaming can feel impossible. These kids have faced obstacles with courage and determination, and they truly deserve the hope that a wish experience can provide. I am honored to accept the Power of a Wish Award and help Make-A-Wish bring more joy to families in need.

The gala will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and will include a special performance by Finneas. The events primary goal is to raise funds to grant 100 transformative wishes for children in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Additionally, Disney executive Sally Hopkins Conner will receive the Philanthropic Leader Award in recognition of her long-term commitment to Make-A-Wish, including her work as chair of the board, producing commercials pro bono, and helping to grant life-changing wishes for over a decade. Conner commented: The courage of these children and their families is inspiring. Providing hope during their toughest moments is essential to the healing process. I am proud and humbled that Disney can help make these wishes come true. Every day, around the world, Disney brings joy, comfort, and a touch of magic to children who need it most.

Since its founding in 1983, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles has granted wishes for more than 10,000 children with critical illnesses. The annual gala brings together industry leaders, celebrities, wish families, and corporations to celebrate those who have supported the organization and its mission to transform the lives of children facing serious health challenges.
