Actress January Jones has shared her experience living with misophonia, a neurological condition that heightens sensitivity to certain sounds such as chewing and coughing. The 47-year-old Mad Men star discussed the issue in a video posted on Instagram, revealing how the disorder has affected her throughout her life.

Jones humorously pointed to her brother-in-law, Tyler King, who frequently eats chips around her as part of a long-running joke. I have a brother-in-law whose favorite food is chips. He seems to enjoy eating them around me because he finds it funny to see my reaction, she explained, highlighting the challenge it poses given her condition.

She described misophonia as a condition where individuals experience intense emotional and physical responses to specific sounds, sometimes requiring cognitive behavioral therapy to manage severe reactions.

Jones added a playful remark, saying shes imagined dramatic ways to react to her brother-in-laws behavior, but has restrained herself: I havent done anything yet. She also noted that despite the teasing, hes a good person and wished him a happy birthday, referencing his chip-eating habit in jest.

Tyler King responded to the post on Instagram Stories, acknowledging the joke and noting that he tries to eat quietly but occasionally finds it amusing. To be fair, I do try to crunch quietly, but sometimes yes, I do think its funny, he commented.
