January Jones Opens Up About Being in a 'Dark Place' During Perimenopause Struggles: 'I Feel a Lot of Rage'

January Jones is speaking candidly about her emotional challenges, revealing the impact perimenopause has had on her mental state. The 47-year-old actress surprised her followers on Wednesday, December 3, with a nearly three-minute Instagram video, in which she described experiencing what she called a darker phase recently.

I havent received an official diagnosis, but I believe Im going through perimenopause, Jones said, sitting in a dimly lit space, explaining shes been dealing with sudden mood fluctuations.

Usually known for being cheerful and playful, Jones shared that she has been feeling unusually intense and impulsive. Im experiencing a lot of rage, she admitted. She also acknowledged the effort it takes to manage these feelings, recounting a moment of restraint: Tonight, I didnt slam my car into a Tesla that cut me off going 70 miles per hour. Thats what I wanted to do but I didnt, and I want to give myself credit for that.

This revelation marks a rare glimpse into the private life of Jones, who has historically kept personal matters, including the identity of her 13-year-old son Xanders father, out of the public eye. Despite this, fans quickly responded with support and admiration in the comments section.

One fan wrote, I didnt think it was possible to love you more after Mad Men, but I was wrong. Another shared, That really lifted my spirits! Youre genuine, and I really admire that about you.
