Jeremy Allen White Searching for Success After 'Deliver Me From Nowhere' Disappointment: 'Time to Reevaluate'

Jeremy Allen White, who recently starred in the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, is reportedly reassessing his path in Hollywood after the film underperformed at the box office. The movie didnt resonate with audiences and wont be contending for awards, a source close to the actor revealed. Jeremy is just hoping this setback wont derail his rise toward A-list status.

The 34-year-old actor maintains that the films lackluster performance isnt his fault. Springsteen himself reportedly praised Whites portrayal, and the actor had limited creative input compared to his work on the Hulu series The Bear, which has earned multiple Golden Globe and Emmy awards.

He was simply fulfilling his role as an actor and gave it his all, the insider explained. Set in 1982, the film depicts a weary Springsteen retreating to a New Jersey rental home to record the acoustic album Nebraska. The movie debuted with just $8.88 million in ticket sales.

While critics applauded White and co-star Jeremy Strong, who plays Springsteens manager Jon Landau, they found the storyline predictable, echoing common musician biopic tropes. Despite the disappointment, White is already looking ahead to new opportunities.

He needed a hit, and when it didnt happen, hes ready to regroup, the source added. Hes excited about his upcoming role in the next Star Wars project this summer as Rotta the Hutt, Jabba the Hutts son, in Jon Favreaus The Mandalorian.

The insider also noted that Whites professional network is expanding, with connections including Matt Damon and Ben Affleck showing interest in collaborating with him.

One key takeaway from this experience, according to the source, is that White plans to focus on fictional roles for the time being. Playing a real-life figure was a challenge for him. Jeremy can tackle anything, but hes stepping back from portraying living legends for now, the source said.
