Kylie Kelce explains why marrying Jason Kelce was a 'Strategic Move': 'He excels in everything'

Kylie Kelce opened up about her purposeful decision to marry retired NFL star Jason Kelce while introducing him at the March of Dimes 43rd Annual Sports Luncheon held on December 3 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

"I have the honor, which I deeply value, of knowing Jason not just through headlines or game highlights, but as a husband and father," Kylie, 33, shared during her speech. "He is the calming heart of our home. While people often see his drive, intensity, and dedication, I witness his love and care daily."

She elaborated on how Jason's team-oriented approach extends to their family life. "Jason has always believed that being part of a teamwhether on the field for 13 seasons or at home with our familymeans fully committing and showing up with your whole self," Kylie explained. "I realized that if we got married, he would always choose me as part of his team. Since he excels at everything, that was a smart move," she added with a smile.

Kylie emphasized Jasons talent for teamwork, describing him as someone who "uplifts others, stands by them during challenges, and uses his voice for causes larger than himself."

The couple met on Tinder and publicly confirmed their relationship in March 2015, later marrying in April 2018. They are parents to four daughters: Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley "Finn" Anne Kelce, 8 months.

At the luncheon, Jason Kelce was recognized with the Sports Achievement Award. Other honorees included Olympic champion Katie Ledecky, also receiving the Sports Achievement Award, and NASCAR president Steve Phelps, who received the Corporate Leadership Award.

While accepting his award, Jason spoke candidly about experiencing pregnancy loss with Kylie in 2018. "I remember stepping out to my truck during practice, overwhelmed with grief and emotion," he recalled. "Moments like that truly show the value of sports and the importance of teams."

Jason also highlighted the work of the March of Dimes, emphasizing the nonprofit's mission to support mothers and babies. "The impact of March of Dimes isnt abstract. Its about families, children, and babies. The support here for families nationwide is invaluable, and I deeply appreciate everyones presence," he said.
