Paramount+ has confirmed that Landman will return for a third season, just weeks after the second season premiered on November 16. The early renewal comes as the series continues to deliver exceptional streaming numbers for the Taylor Sheridan-created drama.
The Season 2 premiere of Landman drew more than 9.2 million streams in its first 48 hours, representing a 262% increase over the first seasons debut. This milestone establishes the show as the most-watched premiere of any original series on Paramount+ to date.
Landman has also performed strongly across the wider streaming market. Nielsens preliminary data indicates that the series ranked among the top three most-streamed original programs for the week of November 17 and climbed to the top two by the week of November 24.
While Taylor Sheridan prepares to transition to NBCUniversal, his existing Paramount TV contract runs through 2028, ensuring he will continue to produce television content for the platform, including the upcoming third season of Landman. Sheridans film projects with Paramount will conclude in March 2026, after which he will begin creating movies at NBCUniversal.
The second season of Landman, co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, follows Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris navigating mounting pressures from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Demi Moore), and his own family. The official synopsis emphasizes the brutal reality of survival in West Texas and the inevitable breaking points the characters face.
The ensemble cast includes Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chvez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.
Executive producers for the series include Sheridan, Wallace, Thornton, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay. Additional executive producers are Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch for Imperative Entertainment, while J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt serve for Texas Monthly. Tommy Turtle is co-executive producer. The show is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridans Bosque Ranch Productions.
New episodes of Landman Season 2 continue to release on Sundays via Paramount+.
