Whitney Leavitt is receiving congratulations from her co-stars on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and from fellow Dancing with the Stars professionals and celebrities. The reality TV star has revealed that she will be joining the Broadway production of Chicago in New York City.
Whitney shared the news on her social media, posting a video where she sits on a chair with her back to the camera, dressed entirely in black. As the Chicago soundtrack plays, she performs the signature Bob Fosse snaps before turning to smile at the camera as the music reaches a climax. She captioned the post, Grateful beyond words to ANNOUNCE that I will be joining @chicagomusical in the iconic role of Roxie Hart. See you in New York City!
This marks her next major project following her appearance on Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars. The official Chicago account welcomed her, commenting, Welcome to the Cell Block. During the show, Whitney and her partner, Mark Ballas, reached the semi-finals, performing an Argentine tango to Cell Block Tango, which contributed to her casting as Roxie Hart.
Fans and colleagues celebrated the announcement online. Several of her DWTS castmates, including Alan Bernsten, Lindsay Arnold, Emma Slater, Dylan Efron, Ezra Sosa, and Sasha Farber, left congratulatory messages. DWTS runner-up Alix Earle commented, YESSSSSS! Im so excited for you, I have chills. Mark Ballas added, Youre gonna KILL it. And who said murders not an art?
Her SLOMW co-stars also expressed their support. Dakota Mortensen, Chase McWhorter, Mikayla Matthew, and Layla Taylor sent their congratulations, while Mayci Neeley wrote, So incredible. I cannot wait to watch. Demi Engemann added, Thats my girl!
Whitney follows in the footsteps of other reality stars who have portrayed Roxie Hart, including Erika Jayne from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2020 and 2025, and Ariana Madix from Vanderpump Rules in 2024.
Dancing with the Stars is currently available to stream on Disney+.
Fans are eager to see Whitney take on the role and are asking if she will bring a fresh take to Roxie Hart, with many considering a trip to New York to watch her performance live.
