During a recent episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg had a tense encounter with a flying toy that almost hit her, though she quickly turned the situation to her advantage. The 70-year-old actor and comedian demonstrated remarkable composure as she ultimately "defeated" the airborne object.
The event unfolded on the December 4 broadcast, which featured a segment showcasing the seasons latest toys for children. Goldberg and co-host Sara Haines were introduced to several playful inventions, including a charming mechanical calf, before being presented with a small flying saucer toy capable of hovering and gliding through the air.
The toy expert, Elizabeth Warner, explained that the UFO would take off when given a gentle upward push. Haines managed to launch her UFO effortlessly, but Goldberg initially struggled to get hers airborne. When she finally succeeded, she released it too close to herself, causing the toy to zoom past her face, creating the appearance of a narrow escape from an "alien attack."
Despite the near-miss, Goldberg pursued the flying toy across the set, momentarily disappearing from the cameras view before reemerging with the UFO in hand. Her playful chase concluded with her triumph over the mechanical rival, earning her a well-deserved laugh and applause from viewers.
With her fearless approach to the mischievous flying object, Goldberg proved once again that she can handle unexpected challengeswhether on-screen or in the imaginary event of an alien invasion.
