Olivia Nuzzi of Vanity Fair reacted sharply when asked by The Bulwark's Tim Miller why she didnt fully disclose details about her affair with Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in her book.

Miller suggested, In the book, youre critical of yourself and others. There seem to be aspects about him you might have left out. If he betrayed you, why not reveal everything?

Nuzzi responded, I think I shared what was necessary. Your reaction shows I provided enough information.

Miller pressed further, questioning whether she had provided all details in the public interest, referencing a New York Times inquiry about texts from Kennedy. Shouldnt you give people everything, so they arent left guessing? he asked.

Nuzzi fired back, People have already learned a lot from my account. How much more am I expected to expose myself?

She continued, emphasizing the purpose of her book: This work isnt about sensationalism. I had to carefully decide what to share, what serves the public interest, and what reflects only my personal experience. Its about being responsible with sensitive information and balancing disclosure with integrity.

Regarding Millers insistence, she added, I discussed only what I felt I could speak on authentically. Handling other details responsibly requires considering context and potential conflicts that might undermine credibility.
