'Actor from 'Home Improvement' Zachery Ty Bryan arrested for a second time in Oregon'

Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role as Brad on the 1990s sitcom Home Improvement, has been taken into custody in Oregon, marking another chapter in his ongoing legal troubles. According to Lane County Sheriff's records, Bryan was arrested for allegedly violating probation tied to a prior domestic violence conviction.

Authorities have not set bail for Bryan, who is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, December 3. The actor has had multiple encounters with law enforcement in recent years, including a second-degree domestic violence arrest in January and two separate DUI arrests in 2024, marking his fourth and fifth such charges.

In 2020, Bryan faced domestic violence allegations and was convicted on two counts. He was later involved in another domestic violence case in 2023, pleading guilty to fourth-degree felony assault as part of a plea agreement. The deal included dismissal of a second assault count and a sentence of nearly two years, ultimately resulting in one week of jail and 36 months of supervised probation. Conditions of his probation required him to avoid contact with the victim without approval, attend alcohol and substance abuse treatment as directed, and refrain from alcohol and drugs.

In 2024, Tim Allen commented on Bryan's legal issues in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, expressing confusion and concern. Allen said, "I don't know what's going on with him. Zach is a great kid who has grown into a complex man. All you can do is step aside and let somebody go through their process."

USA TODAY reached out to both the Lane County Sheriff's Office and Bryan's legal team for comment.
