Amy Schumer discusses her marriage to Chris Fischer amidst rumors of a split: 'Hoping we can weather the storm'

Comedian and actress Amy Schumer, 44, has offered a glimpse into her relationship with chef Chris Fischer amid speculation of a split. In an Instagram Reel shared on December 1, Schumer addressed the rumors directly, writing, Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism. Fingers crossed we make it through. He's the best.

Schumer and Fischer tied the knot in 2019 and are parents to a 6-year-old son, Gene David. For weeks, rumors of a separation have circulated, prompting Schumer to clarify her status. On November 6, she confirmed on Instagram Stories that they were still married. Shortly after, on November 13, a source told PEOPLE that the couple was privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have and emphasized that they remain committed to one another.

In her Instagram update, Schumer also addressed criticism about her recent 50-pound weight loss, which came after her Cushing syndrome diagnosis. She noted, Sorry for whatever feeling it's giving you that I lost that weight. I've had plastic surgery over the years and I use monjouro. Sorry to anyone they lets down. I'm pain free.

The pair initially connected in November 2017 and married in February 2018. Their son Gene David was born the following year. In her 2019 Netflix special, Amy Schumer: Growing, she revealed that Fischer is on the autism spectrum.

Earlier this year, Schumer marked seven years of marriage with a humorous post referencing their prenuptial agreement: 7 years ago we signed a prenup and haven't had to utilize it! Love you babe.

Recently, Schumer removed numerous photos from her Instagram, including those featuring her husband. On November 11, she shared a post celebrating a personal outing, captioned, I actually left my house tonight. Whos proud? Im feeling good and happy. Deleted my old pics for no reason!

On November 29, Schumer shared playful images of her son Gene on Instagram, capturing him jumping into the frame and joking in the caption, Trying to go to the party but someone wont go to bed.
