Julia Roberts Celebrates Her Twins' 21st Birthday with Rare Photo

Julia Roberts and her husband Danny Moder, married since 2002, have intentionally kept their three children away from public attention. The couple are parents to 21-year-old twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, and 18-year-old Henry.

To mark the twins 21st birthday on November 28, Roberts shared a rare nostalgic photo of them on Instagram. The image shows the twins as babies sitting in highchairs, likely from their first birthday, with gifts visible in the background. Alongside the photo, Roberts wrote: These game changers, life alterers, heart expanders once were 1 and now are 21! That was fast. Happy Birthday my dears.

Roberts has consistently prioritized her childrens privacy, yet she openly expressed her joy in celebrating Hazel and Phinnaeus reaching adulthood. In addition to the twins, the couples youngest child, Henry, is now 18.

In October, during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Roberts discussed life as an empty nester. She reflected, Its all fun, honestly. It is all so delicious. I love hanging out with them and spending time with them. Fortunately, we have had lots of visits along the way. She added, I know everyone thinks their kids are great. Well, my kids are great.

Earlier in 2023 on Today, Roberts shared her approach to parenting, saying, I parent them the same way out of the house that I parented them in the house, which is, you know, Are you getting enough sleep? And, You sound like youre sick. And, Are you drinking tea? And Text me when you get home so I can see that youre home safe and sound. She also expressed gratitude for her older children, noting, I have an immense amount of appreciation for both of my older kids because they still allow me to be the same mom to them. And its not eye-rolling and theres a huge amount of understanding.

With her children now mostly independent, Roberts shared with People her desire to return to theater. I think Id like to do another play. Now that my kids are out of the house, I think that I could devote that kind of laser focus again to something like that, because its such a different kind of commitment to make than a film. So, I think that would be something that I would look forward to, she said.
