Miley Cyrus, 33, and Maxx Morando, 27, attended the Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, Dec. 1. Rumors of a possible engagement arose when Cyrus was seen wearing a sparkling diamond ring on her left-hand ring finger as she posed on the red carpet.
The couple first sparked romantic speculation in December 2021 and appeared to go public with their relationship in April 2022 after initially meeting on a blind date. At the premiere, Cyrus was seen gently resting her hand, adorned with the diamond ring, on Morandos chest for photographs.
Cyrus, who was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth, had reportedly been spotted wearing the gold-set ring since mid-November, according to sources. Both she and Morando coordinated their attire for the event, choosing sleek black ensembles. Cyrus wore a figure-hugging strapless sequin gown with a ruffled skirt and train, paired with an additional diamond ring on her left index finger and a glittering necklace.
The singer, who performs "Dream As One" on the film's soundtrack, completed her look with smoky eye makeup and voluminous curls, while Morando looked sharp in a black suit with a crisp white shirt and classic dress shoes.
In a previous interview with British Vogue, Cyrus shared how they met, saying it was a blind date for her but not entirely for him. She added, I thought, 'The worst that can happen is I leave.' She also revealed she uses Erykah Badu's "Tyrone" as a fun ringtone for when Morando calls, jokingly calling it her "boyfriend sexy ringtone."
The appearance with the noticeable ring comes shortly after Cyrus celebrated her 33rd birthday on Nov. 23, reflecting on her year in an Instagram post: 33 is already burning bright thanks to the warmth of your sweet birthday wishes. All I want this year is more laughs with the people who give me the little smile lines that are starting to show up. I love you all.
