During the intense 2025 Men's WarGames event, it wasnt the wrestlers inside the ring who stole the spotlight, but an unexpected masked figure. Dressed in a black hoodie and mask, the individual climbed the WarGames cage and immediately confronted WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, delivering a superkick followed by a curb stomp.

While the curb stomp is traditionally associated with Seth Rollins, new reports reveal that the attacker was not Rollins but another prominent member of WWE Raw. Fightful Select sources confirm that the man under the mask was former WWE United States Champion Austin Theory.

The last appearance of Theory was on the July 14 taping of WWE Main Event (aired July 19), where he fell to El Grande Americano. Shortly after, his tag team partner Grayson Waller disclosed that the duo had quietly disbanded due to an undisclosed injury sustained by Theory. Following this, WWE listed Theory on its internal injured roster alongside names like Zoey Stark and Ilja Dragunov.

The wrestlers name reemerged in October as speculation arose that he could participate in the 2025 Men's WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series, potentially aligning with The VisionSeth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reedand Brock Lesnar. Rollins, sidelined by a shoulder injury at WWE Crown Jewel, was written out of The Vision storyline, yet WWE officials reportedly continued advocating for Theorys impactful return.

After the masked assailant's surprise intervention, Bron Breakker speared CM Punk and pinned him, securing the victory for his team alongside Reed, Lesnar, Logan Paul, and Drew McIntyre. The group celebrated in the ring with Paul Heyman while ongoing tensions between Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns reignited.
