Scarlett Johansson, Wife of Colin Jost, Behaved Strangely on Their First Date

Scarlett Johansson recently shared a surprisingly uncomfortable moment that almost derailed her budding relationship with Colin Jost. The actress admitted that her unusual behavior on their initial date left the Saturday Night Live comedian questioning whether they were compatible.

First Date Memories

Johansson described her early romance with Jost as less than seamless. On a recent episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, which she co-hosted, she confessed that her lack of dating experience left her feeling completely unprepared.

When Colin asked me out for the first time, it was a new experience for me, Johansson said. I had always been in long-term relationships and never really had the classic dating scenario where someone just asks you to dinner.

The couple officially started seeing each other in 2017, when Jost invited Johansson to dinner. She recalled the evening beginning pleasantly at an Italian restaurant in New Yorks East Village.

The dinner itself was lovely. We ate around 8 p.m., and afterwards he suggested meeting his friends for a drink. I had almost no dating experience, so I felt the need to leave early, Johansson explained.

The Awkward Exit

Her early departure created an unintentionally awkward situation. Johansson arrived home so soon that even her babysitter was surprised.

I got back around 9:36, and my babysitter was shocked to see me, she shared. I felt completely flustered trying to explain the date.

The incident also left Jost puzzled. He later admitted that he thought the date was over because of how I acted, Johansson said, laughing. I panicked, I guess.

Longtime Acquaintances Turned Partners

Johansson and Jost first met in 2006 when she hosted Saturday Night Live, but their romantic relationship began more than a decade later. The couple married in 2020 and now have a son together.
