Sebastian Maniscalco shares his response to "SNL" star Marcello Hernandez's spot-on impression of him

Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco shared his thoughts on being impersonated on Saturday Night Live, revealing he enjoyed Marcello Hernandez's portrayal on the November 15 episode. Speaking with Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show, Maniscalco remarked, "It was pretty good. I didnt realize I looked that gray, but anyway."

In the sketch, host Glen Powell plays a groom-to-be who invites Maniscalco, as portrayed by Hernandez, to his bachelor party. Billboard commented that Hernandezs performance "hilariously captures Maniscalcos signature movements from his cock walk and exaggerated hand gestures to his referee signals and iconic Superman back kick all while dressed in a black turtleneck and sharkskin, contrasting with the Hawaiian shirts and shorts of the other partygoers."

Barrymore, who has hosted SNL six times, noted that Hernandezs wig seemed slightly too white. Maniscalco acknowledged this but emphasized his appreciation: "He did a great job. I was very flattered. He even called me before the show to invite me for a cameo, but I was performing in Palm Springs."

Discussing impressions on SNL, Barrymore highlighted that when done respectfully, parody is "cute, honoring, loving" a compliment to the original performer. Maniscalco agreed, stating that the sketch felt affectionate rather than mean-spirited and used the opportunity to hint at his interest in hosting the show himself.

This is all in love, and Ive never hosted SNL, which Im kinda hoping to do someday, Maniscalco told Barrymore. She confirmed her experience, mentioning her six hosting stints, to which he jokingly replied, "Six times! You're taking all the spots!" Barrymore encouraged him, saying he would be "amazing" as a host.

Meanwhile, Maniscalcos latest comedy special, It Aint Right, is available for streaming on Hulu. The full interview with him airs on The Drew Barrymore Show on December 2 (check local listings).
