The cast of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is making waves online like never before, with Demi Engemann at the forefront. In her latest post, she directly criticized the shows production team and claimed that the Season 1 finale, which focused on Dakota Mortensen and a possible affair, was staged.
Demi Engemann Speaks Out About the Shows Production
Season 1 of SLOMW ended on a cliffhanger involving Taylor Frankie Pauls ex, Dakota, and speculation over a potential cheating situation. Fans on Instagram highlighted that several cast members accused Demi of attempting to fabricate an affair scenario herself. According to these claims, she supposedly wanted to portray herself as the other woman.
As the post gained traction, Demi responded in the comments during Thanksgiving, confirming that the finale had been stagedbut she insisted there was more context. She clarified that it wasnt her intention to create an affair for entertainment purposes.
Its awkward that I have to clarify just how produced this show is, Demi stated. After Season 1 wrapped, production asked us for ideas for a big cliffhanger because the show was considered boring.
Demi explained that all the cast members contributed suggestions. Her idea involved meeting Dakota, with the producers possibly showing them talking in a car to imply that something might be happening.
By Season 2, it became clear he was just seeking my advice about Taylor, just as he did with Mayci [Neeley], Demi added. She emphasized that the situation was not that deep or serious and that she simply wanted to engage in the brainstorming process.
Demi now believes her co-stars exaggerated the story to pile on while she was already under public scrutiny. Everyone offered ideas for the cliffhanger, but the story was presented as if I alone tried to stage an affair for fun! Thats not what happened, and I would never do that by myself, she concluded.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Fans are left wondering whether other scenes on the show might also have been staged.
What are your thoughts on Demis revelations? Could other moments on the series be produced?
