'Stranger Things' star Millie Bobby Brown opts for Georgia farm life instead of Hollywood post-show filming

Millie Bobby Brown credits her role in Stranger Things for establishing her life in Atlanta rather than Hollywood. In a feature for British Vogue's December issue, she explained that filming the Netflix hit in Georgia made it natural for her to settle there permanently and raise her family.

"I grew up here. This is the longest Ive stayed in one place because of Stranger Things. For me, this is home," Brown said. Born in Spain, she moved with her parents to Florida before landing her breakout role. Her parents relocated to Georgia during filming instead of commuting from Hollywood to ensure she had a grounded upbringing.

"They didnt want me to grow up in that world," she added. "I love what I do, but it doesnt define me. You find purpose in your personal life."

Brown currently lives on a farm with Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi. In a February interview with Vanity Fair, she emphasized that her choice of farm life is genuine, not part of a social media trend. "I do it because I love it, not for an aesthetic. True farm life involves hands-on work, and thats what its about," she explained.

Attending the Stranger Things Season 5 world premiere on November 6 with Bongiovi, Brown described her rural life as vibrant and full of energy despite its chaos. "Animals are loud, dogs are wild, and everything is messy. But thats where I thrive," she shared.

The couple announced their engagement in April 2023 and married in May 2024. Brown, 20, and Bongiovi, 22, welcomed their daughter via adoption this summer. Brown revealed that becoming a young mother was a personal goal, inspired by her own mother, who had her first child at 21.

"Its been an incredible journey. Our days are filled with cuddles, laughter, and endless joy," Brown said. She also highlighted that she and Bongiovi share parenting responsibilities equally. "We are 50-50 on everything. Hes an amazing dad," she added.

Regarding her daughters privacy, Brown stressed the importance of letting her daughter decide when to share her story. "For now, our job is to protect her. If she chooses to share her personality with the world later, well support that," she said.

At the Season 5 premiere, Brown also revealed her daughters godfather is Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, with Sadie Sink, Max Mayfield in the series, also allowed to babysit. "They all become soft and nurturing when theyre around her," she noted.

Brown shared playful photos on Instagram, including one of her pushing a stroller and Bongiovi in an adult-size BabyBjrn bouncer. Meanwhile, fans eagerly anticipate the release of the final season of Stranger Things, which will be divided into three parts: the first on November 26, the second on December 25, and the finale on December 31.
