Is Trump’s Border Czar Concerned About Prosecution, Jesse Watters Inquires

During Mondays segment of Jesse Watters Primetime, Fox News host Jesse Watters questioned former Trump administration border czar Tom Homan about the risk of facing legal action under a Democratic president. Homan, who directed a strict deportation strategy, oversaw the arrest of both violent and nonviolent undocumented immigrants. Some U.S. citizens were also detained during these operations but later released after proving their citizenship. The raids, occasionally violent, are usually executed by masked, unbadged agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol.

Watters referenced accusations against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for alleged war crimes linked to Pentagon boat bombings in the Caribbean, including a secondary strike on a suspected drug-trafficking vessel. Theyre after Hegseth for war crimes, Watters said. Now, regular soldiers could be prosecuted for following orders. Tom, do you fear being targeted for prosecution?

Homan responded, Theyve already indicated they will. Bring it on. I wont let people forget what happened in the last four years. Half a million children were separated from their families and trafficked across the border. A quarter of a million Americans died from drug overdoses traced to this border. Watters ended the interview by advising Homan to stay safe.

Earlier, in September 2024, The New York Times reported that Homan was caught on tape accepting $50,000 in cash during an FBI investigation. The payment, delivered in a bag from the food chain Cava, was part of a broader counterintelligence operation that had not initially targeted Homan. Audio recordings suggested he took the money and agreed to assist undercover agents posing as businesspeople in securing future border security contracts. In October, Homan denied taking the cash, stating, I didnt take $50,000 from anybody.
