"Does this seem like someone exhausted?" Jimmy Kimmel asked the audience during his Tuesday monologue, before showing clips of Donald Trump appearing to nod off during a White House cabinet meeting earlier that day. As various officials praised the president and highlighted the administration's achievements, Trump appeared to struggle with keeping his eyes open.
"Can someone remind us how tired sleepy Joe is?" Kimmel quipped, before referencing Trumps intense social media activity the previous night: "Of course he's exhausted. He spent the entire night posting online when he wasn't asleep."
Over the course of 160 posts on Truth Social, Trump shared conspiracy theories, criticized his adversaries, and praised himself along with First Lady Melania Trump. "Do you realize how long you have to sit on the toilet to post that much? Seriously, what is he eating?" Kimmel joked. "I suppose his thumbs gave out, so he dragged himself to another all-star cabinet gathering Trumps carefully chosen team assembled to honor their leader and enjoy the perks."
Trump and his staff responded to a New York Times article claiming the 79-year-old president was showing "signs of fatigue" as he "faces the challenges of aging in office." Kimmel continued to mock Trump by rolling footage showing him maintaining composure during the meeting, saying, "Hes doing perfectly fine. Absolutely no worries about him or his team They are excelling."
The host then satirically reviewed some of Trumps top aides: "We have RFK Jr., now involved in a scandal with a reporter decades younger. Our Secretary of War is allegedly targeting civilians while trying to shield an admiral following orders. The FBI director reportedly used a private jet for personal trips with a country singer girlfriend and postponed a murder probe until someone found him a fitting FBI jacket."
Kimmel concluded, "Honestly, IKEA cabinets are of higher quality than theirs."
