New analysis shows Trump's approval rating declining due to concerns about the economy

Recent polling data compiled by The New York Times indicates a slight decrease in public approval for President Donald Trump, despite the country's handling of the National Guard, tariffs, and the delayed release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The drop in support appears to be largely attributed to discontent over the president's approach to economic issues.

The analysis revealed that Trump's approval rating has fallen to 42%, while his disapproval rating has climbed to 55%. This shift reflects growing dissatisfaction with his economic management, which now outpaces other concerns among the American public. Concurrently, the number of respondents expressing disapproval of the president's leadership has reached new highs.

In response, the White House has pointed to President Trump's predecessor, former President Joe Biden, as the source of ongoing economic difficulties. A spokesperson for the White House, Kush Desai, emphasized the administrations ongoing efforts to address the economic challenges. Turning around the economic turmoil left by Joe Biden has been a top priority since Day One of President Trumps term. Weve been implementing measures to ease the financial burdens on the American people, from groundbreaking drug pricing negotiations to securing tax cuts for working-class families, Desai stated. While more work remains, the policies that led to unprecedented economic growth during President Trump's first term are poised to repeat that success in his second term.

Further analysis highlights a noticeable decline in support from key groups, including political independents and White men with college degrees. These demographic shifts may indicate a broader trend of decreasing confidence in Trump's economic policies.

This latest development follows a Gallup poll showing the lowest approval ratings of Trumps second term. The poll, conducted from November 3-25, found that only 36% of Americans approved of his performance, down from 41% in October. This marks a near return to his all-time low approval rating of 34% in 2021, after the events surrounding the January 6 Capitol insurrection.

Trump's approval ratings have declined across party lines, with Republicans, Independents, and Democrats all showing less support for the president. The Republican approval rating, now at 84%, represents a decrease from 91% in October. Among Independents, Trump's approval has dropped to 25%, down from 33%. Even among Democrats, support for the president has waned, with approval now at just 3%, a sharp decline from 6% the previous month.
