Trump is furious over Democrats' affordability 'con job', calling it meaningless.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump criticized the term affordability, labeling it a meaningless catchphrase used by Democrats to exaggerate economic struggles. Speaking at the start of a Cabinet meeting, he targeted the term, Democrats, ex-President Joe Biden, and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, whom he referred to as a stubborn ox.

Democrats keep repeating this word, affordability, but it doesnt mean anything. I inherited the worst inflation in U.S. history! Back then, nobody could afford anything, Trump said.

The president highlighted several economic indicators as proof of strength: falling gas prices, record-breaking Black Friday sales at Amazon and other companies, and egg prices that are four or five times lower than during Bidens term. He also noted that more Americans are working today than at any point in history.

Trump dismissed the term as a con job by Democrats, mocking a congresswoman who repeatedly mentioned it without understanding the real cost of living. Affordability has become a recurring topic for Democrats in recent months, reportedly contributing to election victories such as Zohran Mamdanis in the New York City mayoral race.

Reporters Ry Rivard and Madison Fernandez noted that Democrats found success by focusing on practical issues like rent, utilities, and groceries rather than ideology, in a political environment dominated by culture wars and Trumps presence.

Last month, Trump similarly expressed frustration with the word, saying he didnt want to hear about it. On Tuesday, he continued to argue that U.S. prices are trending downward, citing a 33% decrease in Thanksgiving turkey prices year-over-year as an example.

Trump emphasized that he inherited high inflation from Biden but expects it to reach a perfect level soon. Video of his remarks is available through Fox News.
