Video Shows Hegseth Lied About Crucial Detail in Boat Bombing

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth justified the bombing of two men in the Caribbean by asserting they had radios capable of contacting alleged cartels. However, lawmakers who reviewed the footage refuted this claim.

There was no radio. Only two people clinging to debris, said Democratic Representative Jim Himes during an interview with MS NOW. No weapons were present. No radio. The only communication possible was via visible smoke and flames, which could be seen from afar.

CNN reported that Admiral Frank M. Bradley, identified by Hegseth as responsible for the operation, informed lawmakers that the mens boat was completely destroyed, leaving them unable to access any radio. In fact, defense officials observed the men struggling for nearly an hour to flip over the remnants of their vessel before it was targeted in a second strike.

This account directly challenges statements previously given to The New York Times, raising further doubts about the justification for the strike against the suspected drug operation. The potential consequences for Hegseth and the Defense Department regarding the Caribbean incident remain uncertain, though operations appear to be ongoing.
